Missouri EDGE Damon Wilson II is transferring to Miami

Miami has added a premier pass rusher to the roster as the program puts the finishing touches on the 2026 team.

On Thursday, former Missouri pass rusher Damon Wilson II announced that he is transferring to Miami. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder also considered Texas Tech and LSU.

After spending two seasons at Georgia, where he played in 26 games for the Bulldogs, Wilson transferred to Missouri to play in an even-front defense and emerged as one of the nation’s most disruptive pass rushers.

In 2025, Wilson generated 54 quarterback pressures, per Pro Football Focus, which was tied for the tenth most nationally. He also totaled nine sacks.

Wilson is considered the No. 8 overall player and No. 3 EDGE in the 247Sports Transfer Portal Rankings.

In Miami, Wilson is going to further his development under NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, who worked with star defensive ends Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor over the past few seasons. Bain, who is projected to be an early NFL Draft pick, finished the 2025 season with the most quarterback pressures in the country with 83. Mesidor finished with 67 quarterback pressures, which is tied for fourth-best nationally.

Collectively, the duo finished with 22 sacks and 33 tackles for loss this season.

Alongside Wilson, Miami will return multiple contributors on the defensive front in 2026, including defensive end Marquise Lightfoot, defensive lineman Armondo Blount, and defensive tackle Justin Scott.

Star defensive tackle Ahmad Moten is also expected to return to Miami for the 2026 season. Miami will also get former five-star defensive end Hayden Lowe back after he missed his true freshman season with an injury.
